What We Stand For
We stand for religious freedom, and we value learning about all religions and belief systems.
We stand for equality among all people.
We stand for diversity in backgrounds and ideas.
We stand for open dialog on all issues.
We as a group strive to be accepting to everyone no matter who they are. We trust and provide community to one another and we trust each other.
We Are a Safe Sanctuary Church
University United Methodist Church affirms that all children, youth and vulnerable adults have the right to safe sanctuary. We are determined to provide an environment in which all people are safe from neglect or abuse. This means that everyone who works with children or youth, whether paid or volunteer, have had background checks, have covenanted to never be alone with a child (the “two adult rule”), and are required to report suspected instances of abuse or neglect. If you have questions about this policy, please contact Rev. Diane. We offer Safe Sanctuaries training on a regular basis, so if you would like to work with children or youth, please watch Headlines and the weekly worship bulletin for training dates.
