Using Our Gifts for Service

Service is one of the core faith practices we have identified in our UUMC mission statement, which is:

We are an inviting Christian community that nurtures ever-stronger relationships with God, one another and our global family through passionate worship, loving fellowship, purposeful spiritual growth and willing service.

Serving is just one way that you can support the ministries of UUMC and help keep this congregation strong in its outreach and witness to the community!  There are so many ways to serve at UUMC and we want to find the perfect match for you, but we need your help.

We know that the organization of the church can be confusing and overwhelming sometimes, so we have created some organizational charts that attempt to explain how things work around UUMC and who does what.

On an annual basis, the Nominations Team extends invitations to individuals to serve in elected leadership positions effective July 1.  This year, we are doing things a bit differently.  We want to give you the opportunity to read through volunteer job descriptions for leadership roles and consider whether you would like to take either a lead role or if you are interested in serving on a ministry team.  If so, we want to hear from you soon!

Review the information and contact Adrian Sulser at if you are interested in one of the positions!  You can also fill out the Taking a Leadership Role at UUMC form on our website!

We also know that not everyone wants to or has time to serve on a year-round committee, but many of you would still like to be involved in various ways.  Therefore, we encourage everyone to fill out the Time and Talent Survey at the bottom of the Serving at UUMC page to let us know the gifts God has given you and your interest in using them for specific projects!
