Sights and Sounds of Christmas

What a powerful time of worship we shared together on Sunday!  The children enacted the Christmas story with great zeal and grace.  The orchestra filled the sanctuary with heavenly sounds.  The bells reminded me of Christmas angels.  And our choirs lifted their voices in praise of God, telling us again that God is with us!!

Thank you to children, their parents, and their director Mark Brown who practiced the Christmas pageant the Saturdays before this special Sunday.  We appreciate your dedication and your willingness to give of yourselves!!

Thank you to the musicians and their directors Bette Welch, Paula Bittle, and Nicole Aldrich who have been preparing for weeks upon weeks.  We are grateful for your musical talents and your graceful presence among us!!

Many of you have commented to me that this past Sunday was a wonderful way to prepare for the birth of Christ, the prince of peace among us.  I couldn’t agree more.  I pray that the drama and the music opens your eyes this week so that you can see the signs of peace—and that the Christ child is on his way!!
