Festival of Sharing

The Festival of Sharing is an ecumenical effort in which churches across the state of Missouri share money and “kits” that have been assembled throughout the year in an effort to end the root causes of hunger.

UUMC participates in the Festival of Sharing by collecting items for a kit which is selected each year.

We collected 54 Missouri Personal Healthcare kits in 2015.
The kits will be distributed to food banks as well as during emergencies, such as floods and tornadoes, to people in Missouri.

Appalachia Service Project (ASP)

ASP is a ministry to make homes warmer, safer, and drier in Appalachia and to provide youth with opportunities to grow closer to God and their human family.  It is an annual tradition for a group of UUMC high school kids and adults to take a mission trip and work with ASP for one week during the summer.

For more information, contact Alice Mohr.

In 2015, 12 youth, young adults, and adults traveled to Lecher County, Kentucky to work on a home.  This was UUMC's 22nd trip to Appalachia, where we have served about 50 families over the years.
