Holy Week at UUMC

We believe that our faith is strengthened as we follow Jesus from the high of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday) to the intimate gathering Jesus shared with his friends (Maundy Thursday) to the cross (Good Friday) and the glorious celebration of Christ’s resurrection (Easter Sunday). These are the most important days in the Christian year, and we want to be there for all of them. If you've never shared in the full story of Jesus' last week, don't miss the opportunity this year! To experience the fullness of Holy Week, plan to attend Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship.

Palm Sunday
Sunday, March 25

10:30 a.m. Fellowship Hall/ Sanctuary

Join us in a Noisy Parade before worship! We'll gather at 10:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall and walk around the building, entering the sanctuary through the double door entry on Washington. We'll walk waving palm branches and making lots of noise as we remember the festive procession of Jesus when he entered Jerusalem. (You are also welcome to greet the procession in the sanctuary where palms will be available.)

Maundy Thursday Worship
Thursday, March 28

7 p.m. Worship in Sanctuary

Maundy Thursday, sometimes called Holy Thursday, is a Christian holy day to remember the last command that Jesus gave us.  We will worship this evening through an intimate, reflective service remembering the way that Jesus washed his disciples’ feet and the meal (holy communion) which they shared together.

Good Friday Worship
Friday, March 29

7 p.m. Worship in Sanctuary

Good Friday is the day that we observe Jesus’ death.  Join us for a somber service as we meditate on the Stations of the Cross.

Easter Sunday
Sunday, April 1

9:00 a.m. Breakfast Potluck
9:30 a.m. Egg Hunt

We'll start celebrating Easter morning with a shared meal in the Upstairs Dining Room followed by an egg hunt for the children. All are welcome, and we're inviting our Open Door Food Pantry guests to join us this year. Please bring a breakfast dish to share in the potluck so we have enough for everyone.
