There are many ways to connect, make friends, and build strong relationships at UUMC. Here are a few of the recurring events that make it easy to get to know the person in the pew next to you!
Potluck First Sundays
On most first Sundays, we share a potluck meal immediately following the worship service. (Check the calendar to confirm potluck days.) If it's not a potluck Sunday, we'll still gather for a Welcome Snack in the Fellowship Hall, so stick around after the service!
Dinners for Eight
Get to know your church family a little better through our seasonal “Dinners for Eight!” We kick off each September and February with new groups of eight who share a monthly potluck meal together. Members take turns choosing a location, such as a member's home, a park, or at the church. Singles, couples, and families with children are welcome.
This is a great way to build friendship and connect on a deeper level with the people in the pew next to you. Pairings are made at random, so let John Mohr know if you would like to be included! (You can also let him know if you’ve participated previously but no longer wish to continue.) Bon appetit!
Every fourth Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
The Brookdale, Creve Couer
This long-time group of older adults meets monthly for lunch and laughter at The Brookdale in Creve Coeur. All are welcome. To RSVP for any month, email Art Bulger at least a day before the lunch.
Every November, UUMC hosts a Trivia Night that benefits mission.
Home Friendship Ministry
What does being church look like when one of us is homebound? Would you be willing to make monthly contact with a member who cannot leave home? You can visit, write, or call. If you have children, they might make cards for their new friends. Do you feel called to this ministry of friendship? Contact Congregational Care team members Gail Stobaugh or Bonnie Muren.
Every first Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
All women are invited to read the book of the month and meet up on the first Tuesday to discuss! Information about meeting locations/ host contact info is posted on Headlines and in the Bulletin.
Emergency Contact Information
Thank you to everyone who has filled out an emergency contact form! We encourage everyone to provide emergency contact information in case an emergency occurs during worship or another church-related event. This information will be kept securely and only shared with emergency personnel in case of a legitimate emergency. If you missed getting a form in worship, you can fill out the form online.
